I grew up Reading Comic Books

Growing up, reading Comic books was my favorite thing to do. I read the Donald Duck series with Dagobert Duck, Donald's rich and greedy uncle and his nephews Tuck, Tick and Track. Then there were the bad guys always trying to steal from someone. Donald was always broke yet his uncle hardly ever helped him.

I also read Mickey Mouse comics occasionally. Later on there were more advanced comics s.a. Superman etc

I got my comic magazines and paperbacks from the corner store. They were my escape from reality.

There was a man, a friend of my parents who came to visit, he worked for the comic book printing company in town noand he often brought a box of newly printed comics and I was so happy about that. It was better than Christmas to me to get those comics.

There also was the Asterix comic series which was also fun to read. It is a French comic.

There also was a series of mystery comics and I loved those. They transformed me into another world forgetting my problems like with homework, chores, etc.

I also watched TV and TV was new to us in the late 1960s.
