Global Warming Scale
Introduction To Global Warming
Global warming is a huge problem in the world and here is a scale that shows the measurements for CO2 emission globally. This is a huge problem because according to scientists, global warming will lead to the melting of the glaciers in the Arctic which will then cause global flooding in major cities around the globe.
The World's Leaders in CO2 Emissions
Below is a 2018 scale that shows how much the most developed countries in the world contribute to global warming with their CO2 emissions in billion metric tons. China's lead share of global warming is 9.43 metric tons which is about 27.8% of the global share. The United States comes in second to China with 5.15 CO2 emissions in billion metric tons.

Populations of China and the United States
China is the world's leader in population with over 1.4 billion population in 2021. The United States, on the other hand, has a population of about 332 million population in 2021. So this clearly shows why China is number one in contributing the harmful CO2 emissions since China has the world's largest population.
How Car Exhausts are the Major CO2 Emission Problem
In September of 2022, there were about 290 million cars in the United States. Only about 2 million cars were electric in 2021 according to the Monthly Energy Review. In China, there are about 415 motor vehicles listed in November 2022. On the other hand, China is doing well with 10 million electric cars in 2022 which makes China the leader in electric car ownership. Electric cars are difficult to own because there are very few charging stations available for these types of cars. But, these kinds of electric cars contribute less CO2 than gasoline-driven cars. "Gas-powered cars produce almost three times as many pounds of well-to-wheel emissions as all-electric vehicles. But all-electric vehicles still produce 3,932 pounds of emissions in an average year."
Conclusion to Global Warming
Gas-powered cars are the largest contributors to CO2 emissions in the world and the top 2 countries, China and the USA prove this to be true. Further research is needed to show if the electric-powered vehicles would be better for the environment but evidence by USA Facts shows that the electric-powered vehicles contribute 3 times less CO2 to the very beneficial environment. But, electric-powered vehicles still have a long way to go to become more popular since they may be more expensive plus charging stations need to be more available. Maybe biofuel is a solution but for this idea, more evidence needs to be collected.
